FAQ

  • what kind of scratches can be "buffed out"?

Generally, only scratches that haven’t penetrated to the base coat can be worked out with a polisher alone. Even when that’s the case, paint touch-ups are still possible and affordable. Not to mention that most big scratches are uneven in depth, meaning that the polisher can normally make them much smaller even if a little paint may still be needed.

  • What does an extractor do that a wet/dry vacuum can't?

Our Malco Xtrax™ 1200 applies a cleaning detergent while it vacuums carpet and upholstery. This cleans fabric while also removing stains and debris thus deodorizing those surfaces as well. Furthermore, the Xtrax™ 1200’s pull is much more powerful than any vacuum. In short, it’s the proper tool for the job of actually cleaning carpet and upholstery. They’re not cheap and they’re not common, so don’t be fooled when someone says they can do what it does without having one.

  • What does a steamer do?

Our Chief Steamer © allows us to sanitize interior surfaces using the power of steam (y’know, the vapor of boiling hot water). This process lifts contaminants from fabric, plastic, vinyl and leather surfaces, sterilizes them, killing bacteria and leaving the surface visibly washed. You don’t wash dishes with cold water; why try to wash your steering wheel (a pretty dirty surface, frankly) without steam?

  • What is the difference between paint enhancement and paint correction?

Paint enhancement is a fancy industry term for polishing, essentially. Some may disagree with that assessment, but this our FAQ page and they can find their own!

A paint enhancement is a one-step polish aimed at restoring the color and luster. It’s followed by a simple ceramic spray coating or wax to protect the paint. This is for vehicles with very little-to-no damage to the clear coat who really just want their car to shine and paint to be protected. This is a great maintenance option.

Paint correction, on the other hand, is a three-step process aimed at minimizing scratches, scuffs, paint transfers, and whirring. It’s followed by a ceramic spray coating or wax just as well.

In short, paint enhancement is all you need when you just want your car to look great, and a paint correction is what’s called for when there’s noteworthy damage to the clear coat.
